Laura Lynn Eslinger was born on August 12, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Jack Leonard and JoAnn (Mills) Damron.  The family of five made their home in Wichita and this is where Laura attended school.

After high school, Laura enjoyed taking several different paths.  Through the years she took college courses and trade schooling for things such as welding, cosmetology, medical coding, and Emergency Medical Technician.  Laura's first job was as a waitress at a sandwich shop in Wichita called The Grinder Man where she worked her way up into management.  She later worked for her mom and brother at their business, X-Treme Automotive as a receptionist, bookkeeper, and purchasing.  She drove a bus in both Wichita and Leon, Kansas.  Then when they moved to Harper County, she worked at the Harper Co-Op.  The last several years, she focused on caring for and assisting with her family.

Laura was blessed with five children: Ashley, Devon, Madison, Abigail, and Anna.  They made their home in several towns throughout South Central, Kansas.  Moving to Harper County, they lived in Anthony, Duquoin, and Harper.

Laura married Matthew Wayne Eslinger on September 27, 2008 at the family farm near Duquoin, Kansas.  They made their home north of Danville, Kansas.

Anyone that knows Laura can tell you that she was all about family.  She loved the times they were together and always kept in touch whether in person or by phone.  Laura was all about the outdoors.  Living was being in the fresh air of spending time in the yard or on the porch, going camping and fishing, or riding the motorcycle.  If she did have to be inside, she enjoyed the casino and watching movies.  Laura was an enthusiast of classic cars.  Her love for life and family will be forever cherished by all of her family and friends.

At the age of 56, Laura passed away peacefully at her home.  She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Damron; paternal grandparents, Leonard Damron and Leta Damron-Breeding; maternal grandparents, Ray Ellington Mills and Genevieve Mills; aunt, Jeanne Mills; father-in-law, Ron Eslinger; Matt's grandparents, Harold and Tuddy Eslinger and Don and Evadean Huffer; and nephew, Hunter Voyles.

Laura will be missed by her husband, Matt of the home; mother, JoAnn Damron of Wichita; children: Ashley Schmitzer (Thomas) of Cottontown, Tennessee, Devon Cox (Brittany) of Haysville, Kansas, Madison Calvert (Matthew) of Anthony, Kansas, Abigail Longbine (Terry) of Harper, Kansas, and Anna Siptrott (Jeffrey) of Andover, Kansas; grandchildren: Daniel Chavez, Claire and Sarah Schmitzer, Camdin and Axel Cox, Macie, Emma, Hazel, and Hudson Calvert, Logan and Branch Longbine, and Colton and Lucas Siptrott; siblings, Lisa Marache (Curtis) of Andover and Brian Damron (Kerry) of Mulvane, Kansas; mother-in-law, Carol Eslinger of Harper; brothers and sisters-in-law: Sara Voyles (Russ) of Rago, Kansas, Jennifer Bock (Bernie) of Kingman, Kansas, and Toby Eslinger (Lori) of Duquoin; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Roy Jacobs officiating.  Burial follows at the Duquoin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to Harper Masonic Lodge and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
