Kimberly Sue Temple Schrant, 59, of Harper, Kansas left this world on June 3, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer.  Born on October 7, 1965, in Great Falls, Montana, to David and Jean (Lewis) Temple, Kimberly was known for her sharp wit and mind, infectious laugh, and love of both family and furry friends.

Kimberly is survived by her mother, Jean; husband, Pat Schrant; son Sydney Schrant; brother D.B. Temple (Jennifer) and their sons, Jack and Will; as well as a large, loving extended family including 6 brothers-in-law and 8 sisters-in-law, 19 nieces and nephews and 47 grand nieces and nephews on the Schrant side; special Lewis Family cousins with whom she shared a sibling-like bond; and 12 dogs and cats she called by all kinds of funny nicknames.  She was preceded in death by her dad, David.

Kimberly graduated from Colorado Mesa University (previously Mesa State College) in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in accounting and later obtained her master's degree from the University of Colorado.  A number of years ago she became a member of Mensa.  In her 30+-year career, she served in a variety of accounting, tax, and financial consultation roles.  She originally re-located from Colorado to Kansas in 1994 for an Accounting Manager position with Kennedy and Coe and she settled in Harper and never left.

Kimberly served as Senior Manager at Grant Thorton for 10 years, where she was a regional practice leader, providing support for more than 50 large tax-exempt organizations throughout the Midwest.  In 2017, she started her own business, Kansas Money Coach, to provide financial coaching to individuals, families, and small businesses.  Additionally, she and her husband Pat founded the SPK (Sydney-Pat-Kimberly) grocery chain, with very successful stores in both Harper and Cheney.  Kimberly also made an impact on the community as a volunteer, such as serving 10 years on the Board at Patterson Health Center (6 years as the Chairperson) and creating and spearheading the annual Harper County Bullseye BBQ contest for 5 years, hosting over 40 national BBQ teams.

While Kimberly was passionate about her work, she was equally passionate about setting bold goals and pursuing global adventures.  In 2012 she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and in 2015, she climbed to Everest Base Camp, an elevation of 5,364 meters.  She has visited several countries and she and Pat have welcomed five host children into their home as exchange students over the past 15 years.  A very talented golfer, Kimberly's swing was smooth and looked effortless.  She was an accomplished high school athlete and her little brother D.B. admits that her prowess on the course is what sparked his interest and competitive spirit as he took up playing and ultimately pursued a career in the golf business.  She also shared her love of the sport with Pat and Sydney.  Sydney's plans to start college in the Fall at Southwestern College where he will play on the golf team made her very proud.  She considered her son her greatest accomplishment and gift to the world.

Friends may view and register on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

A celebration of Kimberly's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the Anthony Christian Church with Pastor Ron Eden officiating.  Burial follows at the Harper Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Junior Achievement of Kansas, where Kimberly's legacy will inspire future generations.
