Kevin Ray Young was born May 22, 1965 in Anthony, Kansas to Philip and Janet Sue (Kenworthy) Young.  He was raised in Manchester, Oklahoma, where helping his dad on the farm was his biggest joy.  He graduated from Wakita High School and went on to attend OSU, where he played in the band and studied chemical engineering.

After his passion for radio led him in other directions, he was a DJ for stations in NW Oklahoma and Dallas.  His air personality Rockin K was loved by many.

Kevin helped raise two step boys with his ex-wife, Tina.

Eventually, Kevin moved back to Anthony and Wichita to be closer to family.  He began working in customer service at various call centers while participating in many hobbies.  He enjoyed leather work, rope crafts, computer building, and more.

In 2018, he met the love of his life, Mallory.  After a short engagement they were married on July 4, 2019 in Wichita, Kansas.  He happily took on the stepfather role to her kids Rollin, Owen, and Parker.  He enjoyed spending time with the boys and loved them like he had been their dad forever.

In February 2020, together they had a son, Hunter.  He was through every step of Hunter's NICU journey.  Shortly after bringing Hunter home, the world locked down for COVID, which Kevin took full advantage of to spend every second he could with his kids.

In recent years Kevin struggled with heart issues.  He passed at his home just outside of Norwich, KS on May 7, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Travis Dustin Young, and his grandparents, Eldon and Helen Young and Clifford and Margaret Kenworthy.

He leaves behind his wife, Mallory of the home; stepsons: Rollin Robertson, Owen Marshall, and Parker Marshall; his son, Hunter Young; his parents, Phil and Susie Young; and nephews: Dalton and Wade Young.

Private services will be held.  Memorials in memory of Kevin may be made to the Kevin Young Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
