Kenneth Verne Williams was born on the family farm south of Danville, Kansas on December 7, 1935, son of Earl Ellsworth and Fern Inez (Seyb) Williams.  The family moved to a different farm stead north of Harper, Kansas shortly after Kenny was born.  They did not have the convenience of electricity or running water until Kenny was attending high school.  This led to Kenny being very grateful for a warm shower and not having to walk through the snow to go to the bathroom.

After graduating from Harper High School with the class of 1953, Kenny went on to attend business college in Wichita.  Shortly after, he joined the United States Army where he served as a medic in Baumgarten, Germany for two years.  Kenny then returned to Harper to continue the operation of the family farm.

On June 18, 1960, Kenny married Susan Jane Parsons in Harper.  The young couple were blessed with two sons, Kerry and Eric, as well as the loss of two infant children at birth, Spencer and Roxanne.  Soon after getting married, they moved to their own farm stead north of Harper.  Early in life, Kenny was working three jobs: keeping up the farm, Cessna during the day, and oil rig at night.  He then spent many years concentrating on farming and raising cattle.  Later in life, Kenny served as a Harper County Commissioner for two terms.

Kenny's wife, Susan passed away on September 13, 2001.  He later met Teresa Jane (Leis) Goetz and she became his friend and companion.  They had just officially got married on May 17, 2025 at the farm.

After a long battle with his health, Kenny passed away with family surrounding him on August 23, 2025 at the age of 89.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Fern Williams; wife, Susan Williams; infant daughter, Roxanne and infant son, Spencer; siblings: Phyllis Williams, Glennis Latta, Gene Williams, Ferris Williams, Keith Williams, and Carolyn Barnes.  He is survived by his wife, Teresa Williams of the home; sons, Kerry Williams of Harper and Eric Williams of Katy, Texas; grandchildren: Wade Williams, Shelby Swiercinsky (Derek), Palar Butcher (Jeff), and Blake Williams; great-grandchildren: Kloey, Kiley, and Zander Swiercinsky, Jack and Tillie Butcher; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Harper.

Private family burial will take place at the Harper Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to Prescribing Life Foundation and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
