Judith Marie Parsons was born October 1, 1941, to Walter and Ida (Preheim) Walker in Anthony, Kansas.  She was the youngest of seven children.  During her childhood she spent several summers helping take care of her nieces and nephews, where she became more of a sister to them than an aunt.  Judy attended Harper schools and graduated from Harper High School with the class of 1959.  She attended Emporia State Teachers College for one year

While in college, Judy started dating her future husband, Ron Parsons and they were later married September 3, 1961.  After leaving school she began working at the bank in Harper, Kansas.  Judy and Ron then moved to Houston, Texas and then to Memphis, Tennessee where Ron graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1965.

After Ron's graduation, they moved to Winfield, Kansas for Ron to start practicing optometry.  While in Winfield their first daughter, Lynn Renee was born November 30, 1965.  Shortly after Lynn was born, they moved to Anthony, Kansas where they purchased an optometry practice.  Their second daughter, Jill Marie was born June 16, 1969.

While raising their family, Judy enjoyed golfing, reading, playing bridge, and attending kid's events.  She and Ron also took flying lessons and dance lessons.  Her first grandson, Michael was born November 1992 and was the greatest gift to her.  Her granddaughter, Kaitlyn was born June 1995.  In late 1995, Judy and Ron retired and moved to Kingman, Kansas.  While living in Kingman, grandson Kyle was born in December 1998 and granddaughter Jenna was born in July 2001.  In March of 2000 they gained 3 bonus grandchildren, Preston, Brandon, and Allison.

Due to Ron's health concerns they moved to Pretty Prairie, Kansas a few years later and they would remain there for the rest of their lives.  Judy spent many years taking care of Ron due to his health problems.  After Ron passed away, she spent time going to grandkids' many sporting events, which she thoroughly enjoyed.  Judy's greatest blessings were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were her pride and joy.  She was always telling her friends about them and enjoyed sharing many pictures, she was a proud grandma and great-grandma.

Judy passed away on May 10, 2025 in Pretty Prairie.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ronald Kent Parsons of 49 years in December 2010; her parents; her siblings: Bessie Comes, Elizabeth "Libby" Walker, Anna Ott, Victor Walker, Fern Crotts, and Walter "Dubs" Walker; and son-in-law, Cary Fox in July 2017.

Surviving Judy are her daughters, Lynn Fox (Steve Williams) of Harper, Kansas and Jill Baker (Rick) of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren: Michael Schrant (Taylor) of Garden Plain, Kansas, Kaitlyn Williams (Channing) of Wichita, Kyle Baker of Wichita, Jenna Baker (Luke Myers) of Wichita, Preston Fox (Sara) of Goddard, Kansas, Allison Skinner (Lane) of Madison, Mississippi, and Brandon Fox of Anthony, Kansas: great-grandchildren: Ramey, Ander and Baby Schrant, Riley and Lainey Williams, Kaiden and Makinze Fox, and Waverly and Baby Skinner and Austyn Fox; many nieces and nephews; other family and friends.

Memorial Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Mike Cather officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Traditions Health Hospice and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
