Joyce Gipple was born May 10, 1947 in Mooney Creek (Winchester, Kansas,) daughter of August and Alvera (Schrick) Noll. She grew up on the family farm, where she attended the Corpus Christi Church and Corpus Christi School grade school, graduating from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison, Kansas with the Class of 1965.
Following high school, she became a nurse aide and attended Highland Jr. College in Highland, Kansas, receiving her LPN license. She worked as a LPN at the Jefferson County Memorial Hospital in Winchester and at the VA Hospital in Leavenworth. She moved to Iowa where she worked at the Cass County Hospital in Atlantic. After retiring from being an LPN, she worked as a school bus driver for 12 years in Anita, IA. Being a bus driver was something she really enjoyed.
In 1997, she began seeing Charles Gipple. They fell in love and were married on January 19, 2002 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They made their home in Trinidad, Colorado.
In 2011, Joyce and Charles moved to Anthony, Kansas where they became members of the United Methodist Church. Joyce was very active in the church. She worked in the church office, assisted with funeral dinners, fundraisers and the summer lunch program, and did volunteer at the Thrift Store through the church. She loved being a member of the church and always enjoyed helping with as many things as she could.
On June 17, 2018, Joyce passed away at her home in Anthony at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Marcelene Crossland Trainer, Donald Noll, Charlie Noll and Merle Noll; and Richard Deviney Sr. and George Brownsberger.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her husband, Charlie; sons: Richard Deviney Jr. and wife, Shawna, Joe Deviney and wife, Tammy, and Paul Brownsberger and wife, Danielle; grandchildren: Kelsey Keeling, Skyler Deviney, Bailee Deviney, Hannah Deviney, Erin Deviney, Brett Deviney, Molly Ivy, Jason Brownsberger and Scarlett Brownsberger; one great-grandson, Aiden Deviney; siblings: Glenda Moffatt, Rick Noll and Daryl Noll; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Brenda Kostner-Johnson officiating.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
Memorials in memory of Joyce may be made to the Anthony United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
