With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Joann Luntsford, age 88, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, on January 14, 2023.  Joann was born on October 13, 1934 in Osborne, Kansas to Joseph Peter Charles "Joe" Gengler and Athol Marie (Booz) Gengler.

Joann married the love of her life, Bobby Arthur Luntsford on July 7, 1954 in Smith Center, Kansas.  He passed away on March 29, 1969.  Joann was a long-time resident of Attica, Kansas and most recently resided in Kingman, Kansas.

Known to her grandchildren as Grandma JoJo, Joann lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and nurse aide.  On any given day you could find her reading a book, playing cards, doing puzzles, listening to her favorite Elvis songs, or watching the Chiefs.  Joann was known to always have an interesting story to tell and especially loved telling them to her grandchildren.  She could be ornery, make you laugh, or make you cry.  Joann was special, there is no other way to describe her.  She often said she loved her family more than life itself.

Preceding Joann in death are her parents, Joe Gengler and Athol Hunnacutt; beloved husband, Bobby; brother, Jack Hunnacutt; grandchildren, Dietra Smith and Dustin Hawkins; great-grandson, Seth Luntsford; and great-great granddaughter, Laney Fontenot.  She is survived by her four children: Rick Luntsford (Charlotte) of Welsh, Louisiana, Vickie Luntsford of Coldwater, Kansas, Chuck Luntsford (Becky) and Pidge Wolfe (Joe) both of Kingman; sisters: Roxanne Goodenough, Charlene Anderson, and Betty Kaba; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service is 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Gaylord Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Lambert officiating.
