Obituary

Jo Ann Elaine Nelson, 58, of Anthony, Kansas, passed away on January 25, 2025. She was born on April 23, 1966 in Bellevue, Washington to John and Norma Kramer. She graduated from Agoura High School in 1984. She earned her Court Reporting Certification in the 1990's and spent her career working as a court reporter in various municipalities in Arizona and Kansas.

She is survived by her husband of 11 years, Rick Nelson of Anthony, Kansas; her parents, John and Norma Kramer of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Ashly Ridgeway and husband, Josh of San Diego, California; son, Josh Pritchard and wife, Gwen of Nashville, Kansas; son, Travis Pritchard and wife, Karlyn of Coldwater, Michigan; brother, Ken Kramer and wife, Christi of Winder, Georgia; brother, Scott Kramer and wife, Stacy of El Dorado Hills, California; grandchildren: Bryce Pritchard, Abby Ridgeway, Paige Ridgeway, and Levi Ridgeway. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Chris Pritchard.

Jo Ann was genuine and kindhearted. She was a sweet soul who enjoyed making friends and serving others. She was a warrior too who would not back down from what she believed in. She loved quilting and gifted many quilts to others. She had a special place in her heart for animals, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed going elk hunting with her dad. Growing up, she played the piano, flute, and piccolo. She was in the Interlake High School Marching Band and sang in choir. She also loved ice skating and was in many youth competitions.

She wasn't afraid of trying new things. Later in life she found a passion for refinishing the floors of her 100 year old home, making beautiful jewelry out of silverware, and continued her love of quilting. She loved researching her family genealogy and Cherokee Indian Heritage.

Jo Ann was a single mom and fiercely loved her children raising them to be strong and independent. No matter what, they always knew she loved them.

Jo Ann will be missed by so many, but her love will live on in our hearts.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas with Chaplain Tom Walters of Country Care Hospice officiating.  Following the service, Jo Ann will be laid to rest in Arkansas.
