Jeri Lynne Patterson was born on April 2, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas to William Ernest and Eva Fern (Woods) Carter.  This is where she grew up and attended school, graduating high school with the class of 1965 - Go Titans!  Jeri then attended the St. Francis School of Nursing and obtained her Registered Nurse license.  Going to work for the Harper Hospital, Jeri proudly took care of a multitude of patients over her 50-year career.

There were several things that kept Jeri busy.  She enjoyed her horses, going camping, gardening, junkin'/antique collecting, her Kessler's and 7-Ups, and Marlboros.  Jeri had more friends than can be counted on fingers and toes.  All of which can attest to her huge heart and openness to love.  Unfortunately, Jeri couldn't seem to find a man who could match her lifetime of love and respect.  But this never stopped her from opening her heart to others.  She was smitten with her lifelong, unrequited love from her high school years.  Jeri was a party girl and she enjoyed her mixed drinks.  Jeri and many of her buddies were able to laugh and regale in the old "glory days."

As per her wishes, Jeri passed away with dignity, in her home, and in the care of her loving children and pupper dog, Annie.  She did so at the age of 75 in the early morning of November 30, 2022.

Preceding Jeri in death are her parents, William and Eva Carter and her brother, Lewis Avery Carter.  She is survived by her children, Carla Ryan (James Kinsey) of Larned, Kansas and W. Eric Myers (Joy) of Enid, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Peighton F. Ryan (De'Shaun Clark) of Lawrence, Kansas; brother, Gary D. Carter (Linda) of King George, Virginia; other relatives and many, many friends.

The family would like you to join them in a come and go Celebration of Life from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper, Kansas.  Jeri will later be inurned at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas.
