Jeffery Leo Warden was born October 2, 1952 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Clarence and Betty (Giesen) Warden. He graduated from Anthony High School with the Class of 1970. Following graduation, Jeff enlisted in the Army National Guard.
On January 13, 1973, Jeff married Kathie Hall. This union was blessed with three children: Tanya, Tammy, and Zane. They lived in Manchester and Jet, Oklahoma, before settling in Wellington, Kansas.
While in Wellington, Jeff worked as a maintenance man for the Wellington School District. He also volunteered as a police reservist.
Jeff met and fell in love with Beatrice Jean Brown. They married in 1996 and Jeff gained another son, Scott, and daughter, Cris. Together they loved traveling so after a few years of living in Wellington, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas, then to Alaska, then to Wyoming, then to Nebraska, before finally settling back in Quinlan, Texas.
Jeff was an avid Nebraska Football Fan, which is why he made Jean move there for a short time. He always swore he would spend at least a small part of his life in Nebraska. He was a talented woodworker, making plaques, ornaments, and picture frames, among many items, to share with family and friends. He also always enjoyed a good old western movie.
On November 27, 2022, Jeff passed away at the VA Hospital in Dallas, Texas at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Jackie, Judy, and Patsy; and one brother, Jerry.
Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife, Jean; his children: Tanya Warden, Tammy Ruebel (Randy), Zane Warden (Amber); Cris Lee (Rick), and Scott Brown (Carolyn); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. December 9, 2022 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.
