Jeanette Elizabeth Ricke was born on February 16, 1955 to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Burnheide) Blurton in Nashville, Kansas. She was the youngest of three children. Jeanette graduated from Sharon High School.
On July 14, 1973, Jeanette married the love of her life, Randy Ricke at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sharon, Kansas. The couple were blessed with three children: Kyle, Mendy, and Lance and made their home in Harper, Kansas. They were members of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community of Harper County.
Jeanette spent 34 years working in medical records at the Harper Hospital and Patterson Health Center. She loved her family above all else and spent many days at her grandchildren's events.
Jeanette passed away from complications of a brief illness in Wichita, Kansas on February 6, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Randy and parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Blurton. Jeanette is survived by and will be deeply missed by her children: Kyle Ricke and his wife, Shana of Andover, Kansas, Mendy Hoopes and her husband, Philip of Enid, Oklahoma, and Lance Ricke and his wife, Heidi of McPherson, Kansas; grandchildren: Logan Ricke, Brittny Stephan (Jordan), Jacob Coates (Breanna), Andruw Hoopes, and Trenton Hoopes; great-grandchildren: Elsie, Amira, and Carter; her grandfurbabies; siblings: Marilyn Dugan and John (Janet) Blurton; other relatives and many friends.
Friends may register and view from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 and family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, southeast of Sharon with Father Emmanuel Kosikumah officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Patterson Health Center and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Homes, 613 W 14th ~ Harper, Kansas 67058
