James Patrick Walker was born on October 12, 1964 in Wichita, Kansas to Bobby and Linda Lou (Collins) Walker.  After graduating from Ulysses High School in 1983, Jim worked at various jobs.  Joining the United States Navy, his service was cut short due to a medical discharge during basic training.  Jim was able to serve his country as a part-time police officer in Oxford, Kansas for a short time.

Having met the love of his life, Kaylin Marie Parish, the two were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma on December 29th, 1989 and were blessed with two daughters, Janae in 1991 and Chloe in 2003.  They made their home in Oxford for 14 years before moving to Harper, Kansas to be closer to family.

Finding his passion for truck driving, Jim hauled equipment for BNSF railroad for 14 years.  He then started flat bedding until his retirement from Hinz Trucking for medical reasons.

At the age of 57 and after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Jim passed away at his home in Harper on December 3, 2021 with family by his side.  He is preceded in death by his father, Bob Walker; father-in-law, Fayburn Wayne Parish; and brother-in-law, Stephen Gene DeChenne.
