James Wesley "Jim" "Jimbo" Poston was born February 15, 1988 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Terry and Cheryl (Chadwick) Poston and baby brother of Kayla. He was baptized into the Anthony Church of the Nazarene, where he and his family were members. While attending Anthony Elementary, he was active in Boy Scouts, football, basketball and track. Throughout high school he played football and golf. He began farming for the Whisman family, soon feeling like they were family. He graduated from Chaparral High School with the Class of 2006.

Jimbo attended Pittsburg State University where he studied Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanics. He received his Bachelors Degree in 2010. Returning home to Anthony, Jimbo worked for the McCray family of Manchester, Anthony Farmer's Coop and USD #361 as a mechanic for a short time. He went to work for Foster Energy, before returning to the Anthony Farmers Coop to work in the Feed Mill.

Jimbo was a good old country boy, born and raised in a small town, he loved the simple things in life, tearing down dirt roads, big trucks, diesels, mudding and having a good time. A truly kind hearted person, he was always willing to help anyone and everyone he could. His loved ones were the most important people in his life and no one could've ever asked for a better son, grandson, brother, nephew or friend. He and his sister were best buds, always watching out for one another. Being the baby brother that towered over his big sister, he always found fun in rough housing her with love and annoying her with tickles.

Jimbo was passionate about mechanics. A die hard Ford fan, he spent many hours working on numerous vehicles, fixing, tinkering, improving or "protecting" them. As many knew, only Jimbo could start most of his vehicles. Demo derby cars! No problem, he was on the sidelines ready to fix and repair in between heats.

When work was done, Jimbo was ready to play! Weekends were full of time with friends and loved ones. He was always ready for a good time with his spunky personality and natural ability to make everyone smile. Many unforgettable memories being made each and every moment. . . Saturday lunch dates with his mom, the shooting range with dad, comical spats with his grandma, restoring the '51 Ford with his uncle Gene, and late nights in the shop with brother-in-law, Kelsey.

On August 30, 2016, God plans were fulfilled for Jimbo. He has been reunited with his grandparents: Ray Chadwick, Melba (Chadwick) and Elmer Blair, Wesley Poston and Keith Robertson.

Jimbo will remain forever in the hearts of his parents, Terry and Cheryl; sister, Kayla and Kelsey Brown and Doc Holliday; grandmother, Joann Robertson; uncles and aunts, Gene Chadwick and Nancy Buchanan, Don and Edie Robertson, Alan and Laura Robertson, Beverly and Larry Thomason, Jeanne and Lee Cooperrider and Robin and Darrin Struble; special friend, Allie Lear; other relatives; and many, many, many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Christian Church in Anthony, Kansas with Reverend Jim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at Prairie Rose in Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Anthony Community Care Center or to the Church of the Nazarene, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
