James "Jim" Franklin Beadman was born in Anthony, Kansas on December 22, 1943 to George and Mary Lorene (Ptacek) Beadman. Jim went to school in Harper and graduated from Harper High School with the class of 1961.
On May 4, 1963, Jim was united in marriage with Dianne Elise VanDolah in the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Harper. This union was blessed with two daughters, Kelly and Shana, and the family made their home in Anthony. Dianne passed away on May 15, 2001.
Jim worked for a number of years in construction for different companies before going into business for himself. He then went to work for KDOT and retired as the maintenance supervisor. Nothing was more important to Jim than his family. He enjoyed what nature had to offer as he loved to go fishing, hunting, and golfing.
At the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 12 days, Jim passed away at his home in Anthony on July 4, 2017. Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Lorene; wife, Dianne; sister, Janice Oller; and son-in-law, Vic Sleeper.
Left behind to cherish the many memories are his daughters, Kelly Baker and her husband, Jerry and Shana Holdt and her husband, Dennis, all of Harper; grandchildren: Danial Sleeper of Anthony, Derek Holdt and his wife, Emily and their children, Ryan and Micah all of Harper, and Jessica Holdt of Harper; step-grandchildren, Michael Baker of Harper and Micaela Baker of Medicine Lodge; brother, Jay Beadman and his wife, Cindi of Harper; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Friends may register and view from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral is at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
