Jack Lee White was born July 9, 1936 in Harper, Kansas, son of Harold Lawrence and Virginia May (Phye) White. The family lived on a farm near Attica, Kansas where Jack grew up and began driving tractor at the age of 9. He attended Anthony High School where he excelled in Tennis and Basketball, placing second at State in tennis. He graduated with the Class of 1954.
Jack married and was blessed with one daughter, Brenda. She was the highlight of Jack's life. Brenda blessed Jack with two grandchildren: Chris and Danielle.
After school, Jack went to work at Boeing in Wichita for a short time, before beginning his career at State Line Grain in Manchester, Oklahoma. He worked for over 20 years at State Line Grain before retiring. Following retirement, Jack found himself helping local farmers and detailing vehicles to pass the days. He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with his buddies at Shepherd's. He was a longtime member of the Anthony Church of the Nazarene.
On March 24, 2024, Jack passed away in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Brenda.
Jack will be deeply missed by his sister, Marjorie Barnard and husband, Duane; grandchildren: Chris Hodges and Danielle Roberts; 2 great-granddaughters: Kaylea and Brooklynn Roberts; two nephews: David and Danielle; and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Jon Shellenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, Anthony.
Friends may view and sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to the service on Thursday.
