Helen Marie Little was born May 23, 1951 in Hardtner, Kansas, daughter of Henry and Louise (Lichlyter) Jones. She grew up in the Hazelton, Kansas area.
On January 29, 1968, Helen was united in marriage with Roy Little in Wichita, Kansas. This union was blessed with three children: Roy Jr., Leisa, and David. They lived in several towns before settling in Attica, Kansas.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, dedicating her life to raising her family. She loved crafting, sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing, and drawing. After the kids were grown, and the grandchildren started arriving, family get togethers were of the highest importance to her. She absolutely lived for time together with all of her family. Through the years, she would join Roy in his semi so they could team drive. He gave her the handle name, Freckleface. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Attica, Kansas.
On April 8, 2022, Helen passed away at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy on July 18, 2014; her son, David; her parents; and siblings: Bernard Long and wife, Lily, Betty Ralph, and Dorothy McGuire.
Helen will be deeply missed by her children: Roy Little Jr. and companion, Lacinda Reneau and Leisa Shaddox and husband, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Gaye Hammans; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary Cook, Frank Long, and Carl Jones; sister-in-law, Betty Duvall; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; other relatives; and many friends.
Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at the Attica Cemetery in Attica, Kansas.
Viewing and registry will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in ANTHONY.
Memorials in memory of Helen may be made to Harper County 4-H and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
