Harold "Sonny" Franklin Reida was born on October 28, 1938 at his maternal grandparents' home in Rago, Kansas to Harold Loren and Helen Ruth (Welch) Reida. Growing up on the farm southeast of Rago with his sister Gloria, Sonny went to school in Adams until his 8th grade year. That's when he started his life as a farmer, retiring as a rancher in 2014. As Sonny would say, he lived his life wild and free.
At the age of 83, Sonny passed away at the Patterson Health Center on July 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parent, Harold and Helen Reida. Sonny is survived by his sister, Gloria Coykendall of Norwich, Kansas; cousins, Roy Reida of Harper, Kansas and Al Reida of Houston, Texas; his faithful dog, Babe III; friend, Ryan Poe, his wife, Shawna, and their children: Ethan, Hayden, Braxton, and Rylan; other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Kingman Humane Society and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
Graveside Service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Harper Cemetery with Bill McIntyre leading the service.

I Farmed the Land
I tramped the wood,
These are the things I understood.
No Grand schemes, they passed me by,
I knew the brook, the hills, the sky.
To hunt a bird, to wet a line,
Gifts from God, so good and fine.
Friend and kin, I loved them so;
Although I'm gone, I'm sure they know,
I'm now at peace, life's battle done,
I faced the foe and I have won.
