Greg Reilly Esping was born July 25, 1950, in Harper, Kansas to Robert Wendall Esping and Margie Marie (Reilly) Esping.  He attended Harper Grade School and was a 1968 graduate of Harper High School.  Greg was also a member of the Harper Methodist Church his entire life.  After high school he attended Pratt and Hutchinson Juco.  He was also a part of the Kansas National Guard.

On April 11, 1970, Greg married Marilyn Tracy in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  A short time after, the couple moved back to Hutchinson, Kansas.  There they were blessed with one daughter Michelle.  The family then moved back to Harper in 1971, where Greg lived the rest of his life.  Greg and Marilyn were divorced in 1984.

When Greg returned to Harper, he began working with his father at Bobco Homes, learning all facets of the construction business.  In 1990 he started Vantage Construction and in 1991 he added Vantage Interiors.

On September 18,1998, Greg married Marie Schulte and was blessed with four stepchildren: Chad, Shawn, Brenton, and Kelci.  Greg and Marie had several businesses together through the years in addition to running Vantage Construction together.  Later in his career, he began selling Wardcraft homes until he retired from the construction business in 2017.  After retiring, Greg decided he needed to keep busy, so he became a realtor until his passing.

In his free time, Greg loved to be at the family cabin at the Anthony Lake.  Always the "Cruise Director" many good times were had there boating and enjoying family and friends.  Later he enjoyed having a houseboat with Marie at Grand Lake as well.  Greg would travel to Gold Canyon, Arizona to spend time with his younger sister Diane and her husband Wade. Eventually Greg's parents became snowbirds in Arizona, so his visits became more frequent, and he was able to enjoy time with his nephews Shawn and Jeff.

If you knew Greg, you knew how much he loved fast cars.  He owned so many cars we are not sure we could count them all, but everyone mainly remembers him for his Corvettes.  He loved to take the grandkids for fast rides.  Greg enjoyed being involved in several car clubs throughout the years making wonderful friends with the same love for cars he had.

Greg was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2002 and pursued every avenue to prolong his quality of life for as long as possible.  After a fall, Greg passed away at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas on November 16, 2022 at the age of 72.

Preceding Greg in death were his parents, Bob and Margie and brother-in-law, Wade Hogan.  He is survived by his wife Marie of the home; children: Michelle Meecham (Scott) of Harper, Chad Burkholder (Tiffany) of Goddard, Shawn Burkholder of Wichita, Brenton Burkholder of Harper, Kelci Muse (Aaron) of Wichita; grandchildren: Drew and Grace Meecham, Brecklyn Kunz, Keiarra Durbin, Chase and Taylor Burkholder; sister, Diane Hogan of Gold Canyon Arizona; nephews, Shawn (Genny) and Jeff (Stacie) Hogan; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with family present from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Funeral Service is 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Harper United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating.  Burial follows at the Harper Cemetery.
