Obituary

Grace Fern (Jesseph) Jones passed away on October 9, 2018 at Attica Long Term Care at the age of 91 years.  She was born on May 12, 1927 in Argonia, Kansas to Lester Paul and Gladys Beatrice (Reneau) Jesseph.  She attended high school at Harper, Kansas and graduated in 1945.

Grace married Leo Ray Jones on December 31, 1948 in Sedan, Kansas.  To this union was born five sons: Dale Gene, Eric Lee, Leslie Dean, Alan Neil, and Tony Lee and daughter, Eva Ann.  They made their home in Harper, Kansas.

Grace loved sewing and made clothes for her children as well as grandchildren.  Grace had a large garden and canned lots of vegetables and fruits during the summer.  Grace took up quilting and made bed quilts as well as baby and lap quilts for all the children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.  Grace's quilting didn't stop with her family, for she also made all types of quilts for relatives and friends.  Her annual Jesseph family reunion quilt was a prize that many donated generously for in hopes of winning in the raffle.  Grace work many jobs; cleaning houses, custodian for the post office, seamstress at Jayco trailers, and her last job of over 15 years, was a school bus driver in Harper.

Grace enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed camping, fishing, card parties, and times spent meeting new people while traveling with family on trips.  Grace enjoyed traveling overseas to Bermuda, Germany, England, France, Switzerland, Hawaii, and many other states.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband Leo on July 1, 2015; her parents; a son Eric Lee Jones; and brothers, Clarence and William Jesseph.

Grace will be deeply missed by sons: Dale Jones and his wife Pam Kelly of Greenville, South Carolina; Leslie Jones and Nancy Aberasturi of Wentzville, Missouri; Alan Jones of Harper, Kansas; Tony Jones and his wife Kathleen (Foitek) of Rockwall, Texas; her daughter Eva and her husband Thomas Brewster of Chandler, Arizona.  She will also be missed by her brother, Donald (Rose) Jesseph of Independence, Kansas; sisters, Betty Holley of Savannah, Missouri and Irene (Melvin) White of Peck, Kansas; sister-in-law, Alethia Jesseph of Wellington, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may view and register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper.  Interment will follow at the Argonia Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Grace's name to Harper Health Foundation and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
