Glenda Jane Norman was born November 10, 1941 in Cherokee, Oklahoma, daughter of Bryan J. and Vira Verna (Meeks) Goff.
Jane, as she was known to most, met the love of her life at the young age of 18 and married Gene A. Norman in Miami, Oklahoma on September 10, 1960. This union was blessed with two sons: Virgil and Stephen. They made their home in Anthony, Kansas.
In her early years, Jane worked at Anthony Floral. She later worked for Celco in Anthony as an electro polisher until retiring. Jane was an avid painter, artist, crocheter, quilter, upholsterer, crafter, and jewelry maker. Her family always looked forward to her excellent cooking. There wasn't much she couldn't make, cook, or do. A woman with a genuinely soft heart, she would do anything for anyone, especially her sons and grandchildren.
On December 26, 2024, Jane passed away at her home in Anthony at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene; son, Stephen D. Norman; and siblings: Everrett Goff, Alice Summers, Raymond Goff, Esther Patton, Lester Goff, Delmar Goff, and Lee Goff.
Jane will be deeply missed by her son, Virgil Norman and wife, Lurita; 5 grandchildren: Bryce Norman, Austin Norman, Alicia Norman, Andrea Grado, and Adrian Norman; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony, Kansas with Pastor Kent Olds officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony.
Friends may view and register from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
