Glen Wellington Kernohan was born May 2, 1926 in Sharon, Kansas to Bill and Leafa May Kernohan. He passed peacefully July 27, 2024 at his home in Longview, Texas.

Baptized on September 21, 1941 at Keystone Methodist Church in Zenda, Kansas, Glen loved the Lord and served Him faithfully throughout his life. Glen was drafted as a senior in high school and entered the U. S. Army on August 18, 1944. He was staff sergeant when he was dismissed with Honorable Discharge after the end of World War II, June 28, 1946. He would later be awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery during the war.

He married the love of his life, Peggy Lou Cook, July 14, 1947 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Glen was a member of Cosmos Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and Worthy Patron of Santanta Chapter for many years. He received the Santanta Citizenship Award, was a President and Member of Santanta City Council, Boy Scout Master for a local Kansas Troop, and an active member of the Methodist Church.

He started working for Cities Service Gas Company in 1953 at Corwin, Kansas. Glen and Peggy welcomed their first son, Glen Randall in 1951. Next came twin sons, Gregory Kim and Kelly Lee in 1955. Glen transferred to Cities Helex Division in 1962 and was promoted to Plant Manager of the Mont Belvieu, Texas Plant in 1975. He retired January 1, 1989.

Glen and Peggy relocated to Lake Cherokee in Longview, Texas after his retirement. He served on the board of Lake Cherokee and ran the golf course for 20 years. He enjoyed maintaining his pristine yard, golfing, and traveling with Peggy as often as possible. Glen and Peggy were members of Wesley-McCabe Methodist Church and in later years, Glen enjoyed attending The Church at Lake Cherokee.

Glen is survived by sons, Randy Kernohan and wife, Debbie of Gladewater and Kim Kernohan and wife, Karen of Humble; grandchildren, Bridgette Faye, Nicholas Kernohan and wife, Kelsey, Kendall Kernohan, Michael Ward, Jamie Wolfford and husband, Brandon; great grandchildren, Colby Corson, Drew Burson, Kylie Faye, Megan Waldon, Landen Ward, Remington Lange, Ruby Lange, and Nash Kernohan; great great grandchild, Phoenix Alvarado. He was preceded in death by his son, Kelly Kernohan and wife, Peggy Kernohan.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview from 10-11 AM with a service following at 11 AM.

Graveside Service is 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the Attica Cemetery.
