Gene A. Norman was born June 13, 1940 in Anthony, Kansas, in the back seat of his parents' car on the way to the hospital. He was an ornery young boy that had lots of fun.
Gene met the love of his life at the young age of 19 and married Jane Goff on September 10, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma. Shortly after he and Jane married, Gene was drafted into the Army and served many years in the National Guard.
Gene was a hard working man, who always held at least two jobs at a time. He spent the majority of his years at the City of Anthony or the Coop with a paper route as his side job.
Gene's hobbies included raising animals, everything from birds to goats to rabbits to dairy cows. He loved to hunt and fish. He lived off the land.
On November 28, 2020, Gene passed at Attica Long Term Care in Attica, Kansas at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen D. Norman; his parents, Richard and Rosa (Whisnant) Norman; and one brother, Dean Norman.
Gene will be deeply missed by his wife, Jane; son, Virgil Norman and wife, Lurita; daughter-in-law, Heather Bonham; sisters: Rusty Campbell, Patsy Davis, and Vicki Carthell and husband, Eddie; 5 grandchildren: Bryce Norman, Austin Norman and wife, Jessica, Alicia Norman, Andrea Grado, and Adrian Norman; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
