Edna Faye Smith was born January 4, 1930, to Arthur Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Dickmeyer) Bollman.  She was the youngest daughter of eleven siblings.  She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Wakita High School in 1948.  Edna was united in marriage to Leroy Harold Smith on March 18, 1955, at Central Baptist Church in Anthony, Kansas.  The couple's first home was on the Smith farm in rural Harper, Kansas, moving to town a few years later.  They were blessed with three children: Vicky, Lynette, and Brian.

Edna was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother who loved taking care of her family.  She enjoyed sewing/mending and reading her bible.  Edna's love and service for the Lord was an important part of her life.  She was a very faithful and active member at the Central Baptist Church.  She taught Sunday School for more than 35 years, helping with Vacation Bible School, and leading/assisting in children's church.  Teaching young children about Jesus brought her much joy.  Edna shared her love of music by being part of the choir and singing duets with various individuals.  In her younger years, she sang with her sisters, Elsie and Phyllis, also referred to as the Bollman Trio.  In her later years, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anthony.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Edna went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  In addition to Leroy, her husband of 58 years, Edna was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Lewis, George, Harry, Harold, Bill, and Art; sisters: Ella Ball, Ruth Best, Phyllis Yuchnovicz, and Elsie Derrick; and son-in-law Chuck Weaver.

Edna will be deeply missed by her children: Vicky Weaver, Lynette (Clark) Gibson, Brian (September) Smith; grandchildren: Troy Weaver, Nathan (Sierra) Smith, Trent (Megan) Weaver, Scott Gibson, Eric (Sarah) Gibson, and Brianna (Christopher) Fischer; great-grandchildren: Summit Smith, Scarlett, Ezra, Amias, and Victor Weaver and Huxley, Keston, and Ellis Fischer; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper.

Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating.  Burial follows at the Harper Cemetery.
