Donna Sue Medlam was born November 19, 1950 in Iola, Kansas, daughter of Delmer Eugene and Theresa Joan (Maschler) Lorance.  She graduated from Crest High School in Colony, Kansas, where she painted the Lancer mascot on the floor of the gymnasium.

On December 11, 1970, she married Donald E. Medlam in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  They blended a family of six children and were blessed with two daughters, Dana and Debi.

Donna spent her early years as a homemaker raising her large family that extended way beyond her bloodline, known to many as mom, always willing to adopt anyone that would accept her love.  Her children and grandchildren were truly her greatest joy in life.  She was greatly involved in her kids' lives and activities, serving as Girl Scout Leader, home room mom, and an always available babysitter for anyone.  She was a seamstress, florist, cake baker, wedding planner, artist, and crafter, and ran a small business for a few years offering her many talents to the public.  In the 1990's, Donna and Donald began D&D Transporting.  After retiring, they moved to Colony to help care for Donna's dad.  They eventually returned to Wichita to be closer to their children.

On March 18, 2024, Donna passed away in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 73.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; her son, Deryk Ramsey; sister, Shirley Heiman; and brother, Michael Lorance.

Donna will be deeply missed by her daughters: Dana (Wade) Cotter and Debi (Stephen) Koscenski; daughter-in-law, Robin Ramsey; stepson, Kenny (Sheila) Medlam; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; countless others she considered her family; and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.  There will be no viewing or visitation.  Burial will follow in Singer Cemetery, northeast of Bluff City.
