Doloros Ann Miller was born on September 2, 1931 in Harper, Kansas to Roy Mason and Alta "Ruth" (Smart) Shane. This is where Doloros grew up and attended school, graduating from Harper High School with the class of 1950.
On April 22, 1951, Doloros married Samuel George Miller in Harper. Sam and Doloros originally made their home in Bakersfield, California, later living in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and finally settling in Wichita, Kansas. Doloros worked for some time as a medical assistant. The couple loved to travel, mostly to visit family. Sam passed away on November 29, 2002. Doloros was a member of the Northside Church of Christ. Her faith was very important to her and she loved to attend church.
Doloros passed away in Wichita on February 8, 2024 at 4:34 a.m. at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth Shane; her husband, Sam Miller; and siblings: Wilma Boyce, Hazel Shane, and Olin Shane. Doloros is survived by one sister-in-law, Katherine "Jane" Shane of Urbandale, Iowa; nieces and nephews: Nancy Shane McCullough, Andrew Shane, Stanley Boyce, Kenneth Boyce, Brent Boyce, and Welsey Boyce; as well as their spouses and children; cousins Mary Lee (Smart) Berg and husband Karl Berg; other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service is at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Harper Cemetery with Celebrant Kent Rogers officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Church of Christ and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Homes, 613 W 14th St ~ Harper, Kansas 67058.
