Obituary

Deloris Elaine (Hess) Wedman, daughter of John and Naomi (Clark) Hess, was born September 22, 1929 in Renfrow, Oklahoma.  She was raised on the family farm near Manchester, Oklahoma, which was part of the original Cherokee Strip.

On August, 1951, Deloris was united in marriage to John Roger Wedman in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Anthony, Kansas.  To this union eight children were born: Eugene, Richard, Ronald, David, Larry, Galen, Linda, and Marie.

Roger and Deloris moved to a farm north of Argonia, Kansas where they raised their children and lived for a number of years.  In addition to working on the farm and being a wonderful mother to her children, Deloris also enjoyed sewing, taking care of her flower garden, and reading. She also worked some as a waitress at various restaurants in the area.  Later they moved to the family farm near Danville where they lived for several years until Deloris developed Alzheimer's.

Deloris passed away on July 23, 2021 at the Anthony Community Care Center with her husband of 69 years by her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Larry and David; daughter, Marie; and grandson, Nicholas Wedman.  Deloris will be deeply missed by her husband, Roger; her children: Eugene Wedman and wife, Kristina of Anthony, Richard Wedman and wife, Teresa of Argonia, Ronald Wedman and wife, Stephanie of Argonia, Galen Wedman and wife, Jo of Medicine Lodge, and Linda Head and husband, Jay of Danville; fourteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
