Robert Edwardean (Dean) Shaw was born July 9, 1944 at the Galloway Hospital in Anthony, Kansas; son of Russell Shaw and Myrtle (Culver) Shaw.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a teenager and was baptized at the First Christian Church in Anthony, Ks.  He graduated from Anthony High School with the class of 1962.

On September 10, 1962 Dean married Connie Coon at the Christian Church in Wellington, Ks.  This union was blessed with three children; Dean Bryan, Lee Brent and April Lyn.  They made several moves; from Wellington, Ks., Sharon, Ks., Medicine Lodge, Ks., Rotan, Tx, where Dean was terminal manager for Brazos Transport, moving back to Medicine Lodge, Ks until the kids graduated from Medicine Lodge High School then moving to Wichita, Ks until Dean retired, then Dean and Connie moved to Gilbert, Arizona to be closer to kids and grandkids.

On March 17, 2023 Dean passed away at the Gilbert Mercy Hospital, Gilbert, Az., at the age of 78. His long battle with COPD was over. He is preceded in death by his parents Russell Shaw and Myrtle Sexton, and half sister Linda Fawcett.

Dean will be deeply missed by his wife Connie who lives in Gilbert,  his children Dean Bryan, Kingman, Ks., Lee Brent, wife Tracey and daughter April Shaw of Gilbert, AZ., 6 grandchildren: Kira Farquhar, Brandy Shaw, Jacob Shaw, Grant & Levi Nunemaker and Zachary Shaw. And 6 great grandchildren. 3 Sisters n Law Kay Allton, Carolyn Jones and Wanda Herrin all of Wellington, KS. 3 cousins Bob Culver, Ann Blair and Ron Price. Other relatives and many friends.

Dean had a deep love for family and country. He was a loving husband, proud father and grandpa. He enjoyed his motorcycles old cars his dogs and good friends.

Dean was cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
