David LeRoy Reese was born on July 17, 1951 in Phillipsburg, Kansas.  This bouncing baby boy was born to parents LeRoy and Jean (Patterson) Reese, and two older brothers Randall and Roger.  When David was two years old, he welcomed his first younger brother, Stephen followed quickly by brother Daniel and then sister Faye Ann.

David graduated from Logan Kansas High School in 1969.  Following high school graduation, he attended college at the Northwest Area Vo-tech in Goodland for two years.  He worked at Solida Tree Service.  David started as a lineman with the local electric company in 1978.  He received his Journeyman license and settled in Harper, Kansas where he lived and worked for many years. David served on EMS and the Fire Department during those years. David retired at the age of 62.

When not working David loved spending time with his companion Frances and her family.  He never missed a holiday or a special occasion with them.  Family and friends were very important to David.  He always had time to sit and visit with them.  David was known to be ornery and loved to play jokes on his sisters-in-law.  David enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and driving through the countryside.  David took his last drive on August 02, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Jean Reese; two older brothers, Randall and Roger; and one brother-in-law Lester Bausch.  He is survived by longtime companion Frances Miller of Harper; brother Stephen Reese and wife Karen of Logan; brother Daniel Reese and wife Joyce of Hill City; sister Faye Bausch of Norton; sister-in-law Linda (Reese) Roth; along with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

David was loved and will be missed by family and friends.

Celebration of Life is at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the Youth Center in Logan.

In lieu of plants and flowers the family suggests a memorial to Harper County EMS or Harper Fire Department.
