David Lee Hoggatt was born on February 4, 1957 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to William Henry and Susan Ann (Reisch) Hoggatt.

Enlisting in the United States Army, David proudly served his country with 2 years of active duty and over 18 years in the Army National Guard.  His active duty time was in part during Operation Iraqi Freedom.  David was awarded numerous medals, ribbons, and commendations that included serving in a designated imminent danger area, Iraq Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, and Army Service Ribbon.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

David was united in marriage with Eva Marie Louthan on December 13, 2001.  His military training in food service carried over into his civilian life, spending several years working as a cook in different restaurants. Before retiring, he worked in the sporting goods department at the Walmart in Pratt, Kansas.

At the age of 64, David passed away in his home in Harper, Kansas on March 7, 2021.  Preceding him in death are his parents.  David is survived by his wife, Eva of the home; son, David Marvin Hoggatt of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; stepsons, John Alan Louthan and Christopher James Louthan both of Harper; son, Trey Creamer of Harper; grandchildren: Arya Raine Louthan, Macayle Vernon Louthan, and Makiya Rose Louthan; siblings: Mary Campbell and Jay Hoggatt, both of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and Robin Womack (Mickel) of Wichita, Kansas; nieces and nephew: Sarah Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Amy Hoggatt, Samantha Hoggatt, and Emerald Womack; other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Wichita DAV and can be sent in care of the funeral home.

Graveside service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Kansas Army National Guard.
