Obituary

David Wayne "Corky" Easley was born on July 14, 1955 in Henderson, Kentucky to Glen William and Vietta Faye (Ikeler) Easley. He passed away on September 20, 2016 at the age of 61 years, 2 months, and 6 days in Wichita, Kansas.

David was the middle child with an older and a younger sister. The family moved to Attica in 1960 and then to Harper in 1962. This is where he went to school, attending Harper High School until moving to Chaparral High School, where he graduated with the class of 1973.

Furthering his education, David attended junior college for 2 years. He then went on to the Kansas University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1987.

David spent several years working in Environmental Safety for Terracon, a consulting engineering company in Iowa. Returning to Harper, he went to work for the city water department and was a pumper for an oil well company in Kingman County.

David married Mary Odelia French on June 27, 1997 in Anthony, Kansas. They made their home in Harper, Kansas.

Proceeding David in death was his father, Glen. David will be missed by his mother, Vietta Easley of Harper; spouse, Mary Easley of Harper; sisters: Connie Easley of Harper and Nina Noland and her husband, Delvin of Lufkin, Texas; 1 niece and 4 nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Friends may register and view from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation with family present to receive friends will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday. Both at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 23rd at the Harper Cemetery with Pastor Ed Hughlett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Harper County EMS and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
