Obituary

David Mark Duvall was born February 29, 1956 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Bobby Lee and Laray (Wilson) Duvall.  During his childhood the family moved around to various areas before settling in Kiowa, Kansas where David graduated from High School.

On October 6, 1979, David was united in marriage with Betty Pope.  He instantly became a dad to Betty's daughter, Terri.  The family made their home in Anthony, Kansas.  In 1981, their son, Nicholas Keith was stillborn.  In 1982 they welcomed daughter, Bridgett Ann, and in 1984 son, Nathan Mark.  David worked for Harper County for 36 years before retiring.

David was a kindhearted, loving man who would do anything to help anyone.  He loved his family and friends deeply.  He always looked forward to hunting, fishing, or any other activity he could enjoy with his family and friends.  He was a perfectionist, especially when it came to his woodworking.  He made many gifts and keepsakes for his family and others throughout the years.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he always hated that his health began to fail and he wasn't able to do everything with them, but he still made sure that they knew that "pepaw"/"grumpy gramp" loved them.

On February 7, 2023, David passed away at his home in Anthony, Kansas at the age of 66.  He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Nicholas; and brothers, James and Scotty Duvall.

David will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty; his children:  Terri Johnson, Bridgett Duvall, and Nathan Duvall (Aletha Gilchrist); grandchildren:  Gabe, Eli, and Ethan; siblings: Bill Duvall (Christina Kaumans), Lonnie Duvall (Rose), and Susan Duvall; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony with Pastor Jason Mohler officiating.

Friends may view and sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.
