Danny Lee Kunz was born April 30, 1956 in Harper, Kansas, but was very proud to be a lifelong resident of Attica, Kansas.  He graduated from Attica High School with the Class of 1975.

He chose a career as a truck driver, driving for Hayes Oilfield Trucking in earlier years and later for Dark Oil, from which he retired.

On July 13, 2002, Dan married Shannon Johnston Woods. The two were destined to spend the rest of their lives together.

A memorable man, laughter often surrounded him.  He had a passion for drag racing and car shows, taking any opportunity to shine and show off his '65 Mustang Fastback.  His sense of humor, cooking abilities, and advice giving will never be forgotten, nor will his extensive beaver collection.

On April 17, 2026, Dan passed away, right where he wanted to be, at his home in Attica.  He was preceded in death by his parents: David Kunz and Erma Mae (Jenkinson) Kunz; his brother, Victor Bruce Crowl; and sister, Ramona Crowl Carroll.

Dan will be deeply missed by his wife, Shannon; his children:  Shaun Kunz and wife, Jennifer, Kevin Kunz and wife, Elyse, Larissa Moncivaiz and husband, Sambo, and Mitch Woods and wife, Allie; sister, Naomi Imhoff; brother, Dale Kunz; 14 grandchildren: Skyler Kunz and companion, Taylor Joplin, Tori Nipp and husband, Newt, Brayden Kunz, Colton Kunz, Kai Kunz, Gabby Kunz, Owen Kunz, Hudson Kunz, Jax Kunz, Grace Kunz, Savannah Woods, Brecklyn Kunz, Kemper Schardein, and Beckett Schardein; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Anthony Christian Church.
