Obituary

Daniel Joseph Gibson was born May 1, 1976 in New Braunfels, Texas, son of Gregory and Barbara (Seffel) Gibson.  His family moved to Anthony, Kansas where Danny attended school.  In the early 90's Danny moved to Texas to work in construction.

After returning to Anthony, Danny married Neoshea Warren on April 17, 1998 in Miami, Oklahoma.  They were blessed with one son, Reese Daniel, who was born August 11, 1999.

Danny later married Dawn Justus on April 28, 2007 at Lake Afton.  When they began dating he became a father to Dawn's son, Jonathan.  Danny and Dawn's son, Kegan Lee, was born on July 14, 2006, and their daughter, Gretchen Cherie on May 2, 2008.

Danny worked at Celco in Anthony for the last 15 years.  His favorite past time was being at any lake, making memories with family and friends.  He was always ready to camp, boat, fish and cook out.  His children remember how he loved to have them help work on his car and taught them carpentry skills.  His laughter, good conversation and unique dress style are a few of many things his family will miss.  A good hearted man, he was always willing to help anyone with anything.

On June 6, 2020, Danny passed away at Patterson Health Center at the age of 44 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Kenny Webb.

Danny will be deeply missed by his children:  Reese Gibson, Kegan Gibson, Gretchen Gibson, and Jonathan Johnson; his sister, Penny Gerdes and husband, Chad, and their children, Alek Schuler and his son, Kanen, and Tristan Gerdes and her son, Tripp; his grandmother, Alberta Silveroli; his second parents/aunt and uncle, Reta and Jerome Gates; his cousin/sister, Jennifer Prouse and husband, Hal, and their daughters, Emry and Kaci; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and many, many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 at the West Anthony Lake Shelter by the Golf Course.  Please dress casual and bring a chair.

Viewing and Visitation for the public will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.

As many of you know, Danny's son Reese is battling Leukemia and will be receiving a bone marrow transplant in the near future.  This means we must keep him healthy, so please respect all signs that will be posted, consider wearing a mask, and avoid contact with the family area. #TEAM REESE
