Lou Ann was a free spirit that loved life and loved her family and friends. Most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her life is marked by the joy she brought her family and friends and the happy times she spent traveling, bowling, and cooking.

Born in Harper, Kansas, February 24, 1950, she grew up on the farm and loved sports and board games. She threw the shot put, played softball, golfed, and bowled. She loved playing board games and hanging out with her mom. Many of her relationships she built in high school have been kindled throughout her years and she still keeps in contact with many of her classmates.

She worked with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for thirty years while she lived in Wichita, Kansas. During that time, she was able to travel around the United States because she was on a bowling league. After these adventures, she retired and moved to Colorado to be with her family. Because she was too young to retire, she started a new job, working for the United States Postal System for eight years. As she worked in each of her jobs, she collected new and dear friends that remain to this day.

The travel bug caught her again, so she went on a handful of cruises, one up the northeastern coast, visiting Quebec and Prince Edward Island. Another cruise took her to the chilly tundra of Alaska. To warm up, she later visited Hawaii and enjoyed seeing volcanos and wildlife.

She began attending church while living in Johnstown and grew in her relationship with Jesus during this time. She decided to buy a house in Windsor and ended up going to Windsor Community Church. She loved her time with her church family and her opportunities to serve through baking and fellowshipping in her small groups.

She went to be with Jesus on April 2, 2021. She passed quickly due to a massive coronary. She is survived by her brother, Mike Thompson; her sister-in-law, Kay Thompson; her niece, Lori d'Entremont, her husband Josh, and children, Sophia, Emily, and Camille; her nephew, Seth Thompson, his wife Erin, and his children, Silas, Nadia, and Skyler. Lastly, Lou Ann's entourage would not be complete without her extended family and her friends both local and afar (all too many to name!).

Lou Ann loved Jesus, loved others, and loved life. She had a deep, loud laugh that invited others to enjoy life with her. She found humor in everything and loved her bloody mary drinks, playing games, baking, and reading her Bible. Her legacy lives on in her relationships with her family that misses her so deeply, her friends who so enjoyed her company, and the world that will always remember Lou Ann Thompson -- that sweet, friendly lady who always had a smile for everyone.
