Codye G. Eslinger was born September 13, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Clarence Edward and Martha Ann (Pohlman) McDaniel. She graduated from Wichita West High School.

On September 10, 1961, Codye married Haynes "Larry" Eslinger Sr. in Wichita, Kansas. They were blessed with three children: Larry Jr., Kelly and Sherry.

Codye worked for Valassis Inserts for 10 years during the late 80's and early 90's. She enjoyed being a homemaker for many years. In September of 1997, they moved to Anthony, Kansas.

Among other things, Codye loved to sew and listen to music, especially from Ferrante and Teicher. She was also a bowler.

On August 16, 2017, Codye passed away peacefully with her loving husband of 56 years by her side, after battling liver problems for the last 10 months. She fought a valiant battle until the very end, having been on hospice for over 3 months. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edward.

Codye will be deeply missed by her husband, Larry Eslinger; her children: Larry Eslinger Jr., Kelly Eslinger and Sherry Roniger and husband, Tracy; sister, Jayne Dunlap and husband, Ron; brother, Scott McDaniel and wife, Debi; 4 grandchildren: Holly, Emma, Hunter and Miley Roniger; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony. Burial will follow at the Burchfiel Cemetery, south of Anthony.

Visitation 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.

Memorials in memory of Codye may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Anthony Community Care Center and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
