Obituary

Clyde Jesse "CJ" Schreiber was born September 17, 1942 in Larned, Kansas, son of Clyde and Clenabel (Fox) Schreiber. He graduated from Rozel High School. On November 17, 1963 he married Patricia L. Smith in Kinsley, Kansas. In 1964 they were blessed with a child named Tammy.

In 1988, CJ and Lora were blessed with a son named CJ Jr. who enjoyed going to work with his dad, who worked for farmers.

CJ was a farmer his entire life. He loved farming. He was a devoted father, who loved spending time with his children and later grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served as a 4-H leader for many years.

On January 22, 2019, CJ passed away at Wesley Medical Center at the age of 76 years after suffering from a fall a few days earlier. CJ was preceded in death by his son, CJ Schreiber II; his mother, Clenabel; father, Clyde; step-mother, Isabel; and brother, Ron.

CJ will be deeply missed by his daughter, Tammy Bowling and Patrick Stepp; grandson, Alan Bowling and daughters: Sophia and Alanah; granddaughter, Danielle Bowling and Kaleb Williams and their children: Lane and Benelli; sisters: Ann Forst, Rose Kelsey and Bobbie Schreiber; step-siblings: Albert Castor, Joe Castor, Gloria Valadez and John Gonzalez; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Friends may register 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday.

Memorials in memory of CJ may be made to the CJ Schreiber Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
