Charles "Chuck" Michael Prosser was born on December 22, 1950 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the son of Robert Charles and Marie Ann (Briggs) Prosser.

On June 28, 1968, Chuck enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Carson Colorado when he was sent to Vietnam, serving in the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.  He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Expert Badge on the M16.  Chuck was Honorably Discharge on July 8, 1975 with the rank of Private First Class.

Meeting the love of his life, Chuck married Marjorie Langston in Wichita, Kansas on August 26, 1986.  He had an immense love for her.  A security guard for Hormel Food Services in Wichita, Chuck retired after several years of working.  The couple moved to Anthony, Kansas a few years before Marjorie's passing on September 5, 2017.

Chuck loved his family and would do anything to protect them.  He had quite the arsenal of weapons and told them if anything happened, he'd take care of them.  But he wanted to help people in any way he could.  Chuck was a people pleaser and just wanted to take care of everyone.  He loved going to the gun range to practice and play.  He enjoyed reading and pretty much had his own library.  He could also often be found playing video games or watching military history and old westerns.  A Red Rooster fanatic, this is where the staff affectionately referred to him as Charlie.

With his health continuing to decline, Chuck became a part of the Attica Long Term Care family on January 19, 2023.  He passed away on May 25, 2023 at the age of 72.  Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife.  Chuck is survived by his great-nephew, Scotty McCartney and his wife Vanessa of Harper; stepchildren: Rebecca Weaver (Robert) of Savannah, Georgia, Tammy Turberville of Mobile, Alabama, Cathy Bell (Wade) of Christoval, Texas, and Dale Dodson (Michelle) of Augusta, Kansas; brothers and sisters-in-law: Donna Ables and Robert Langston (Susan), all of Wichita and Mary Lou Langston of Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Harper Cemetery with Pastor Warren Stanton officiating.  Military Honors provided by the Army Honor Guard.
