Christopher Lee Chandler, 55, passed away on February 10, 2026, after bravely battling numerous health conditions. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, just days before his 56th birthday. He was born on February 26, 1970 in Pinckneyville, Illinois and most recently made his home in Harper, Kansas.
Chris graduated from Pinckneyville High School in Pinckneyville, Illinois, in 1988. He was truly a jack of all trades who loved staying busy and working with his hands. He had a strong work ethic and rarely sat still, always finding something that needed fixing, building, or improving. Though he may not always have expressed it outwardly, Chris deeply loved being a father and was incredibly proud of each and every one of his children.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Patricia (VanBrooker) Chandler. He is survived by his wife, Doris; children: Maci Chandler of Illinois, Wyatt Chandler of Illinois, and Isabella Chandler of Texas. He also leaves behind his siblings: Cindy (Rick) Luke, Brian (Martha) Chandler, Daron (Tricia) Chandler, and Justin Chandler and his beloved grandchildren: Alayna, Justynski, and Ashton.
Chris will be remembered for his strength, determination, and the quiet love he carried for his family. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Royce Vogt officiating. Burial follows at the Fairview Cemetery, south of Danville.
