Cheryl Lou Calvert, a woman of deep warmth, quiet strength, and creative spirit, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 at the age of 80.  Born April 5, 1945, in Jefferson City, Missouri, Cheryl lived a life marked by resilience, devotion, and the joy she found in simple, beautiful things.

Her journey took her across the heartland of America—through Missouri, Mississippi, Colorado, and Kansas—carrying with her a steadfast love for family and the comforts of home.  At just 16, she married Clair Arb and began her greatest adventure: motherhood.  Together they welcomed two beloved daughters, Daphne and Deanna, who remained the center of her world.

Later in life, Cheryl was blessed with a second chapter of love when she married Clyde Eldon Calvert in 1986.  Their union brought years of companionship, laughter, and shared devotion to home and family.

Cheryl had a passion for crafts of all kinds and a green thumb that made every garden she touched bloom with care.  Her hands were rarely still—sewing, painting, and creating beauty around her home.  She had a lifelong affection for Precious Moments figurines, which reflected the sweetness and sentimentality she carried in her heart.

Her legacy is one of quiet grace, unconditional love, and a nurturing spirit that touched everyone lucky enough to know her.  Cheryl's memory will forever bloom in the lives of her children, family, and all who were shaped by her kindness.

Preceding Cheryl in death are her parents Edmond Snyder and Miriam (Parks) Chatelain; daughter Daphne Nicholas; husband Clyde Calvert; sister Edwina Detweiler; and brother Steven Snyder.

Surviving family members are daughter Deanna (Mike) Leslie; stepdaughter Jena (Rich) Sawyer and stepson Jason Calvert; brother Keith Snyder and sister Connie Wallace; grandchildren: Mandy (Chris) Smith, Zachary Leslie, Scott (Rachel) Nicholas, Staci (Jerry) Cushenbery, Roman Shurley, Rhiannon Sawyer, Mason Shurley, Brenna Shurley, Matthew (Maddi) Calvert, Eric Sawyer, and Jade Calvert: great-grandchildren Penelope Smith, Felix and Abby Gonser, Macie, Emma, Hazel, and Hudson Calvert, Elija and Charlie Nicholas, and Libby, Ellie, and Jay Cushenbery; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In honor of Cheryl, the family encourages loved ones to spend a moment in a garden, create something with their hands, or simply treasure the precious moments that make life beautiful.

Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Harper with Pastor Royce Vogt officiating.  Burial follows at the Attica Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Huntington's Disease Association and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
