Charles Ray "Chuck" Meyer, son of Forrest Arnot and Margaret Elizabeth (Kerley) Meyer, was born June 9, 1937 in Anthony, Kansas. He passed away August 13, 2025 at his home in Augusta, Kansas at the age of 88.
On August 9, 1959, Charles was united in marriage with Wanda L. Napier. To this union three children were born: Leah Ann, Pamela Kaye, and Forrest Scott. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2019 and were blessed with 61 ½ years of marriage before Wanda passed away in 2021.
They made their home in many states, as Chuck's job with Walmart kept them on the move. After retiring from Walmart, he and Wanda moved back to Anthony where Charles farmed and they were members of the Anthony Christian Church for more than 20 years. The Anthony Christian Church and their fellow parishioners always held a special place in their hearts. Later they moved to Augusta, Kansas and became members of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Wichita.
Charles will be deeply missed by his daughters, Leah and Pamela; son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Mandy; and sons-in-law, Rodney and Tony. To this union are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Seth (Monica) Furr, Jacob Furr, Lauren Furr, Matthew Furr, Jesse Weeks, Lindsey (Cody) Stephens, Jordan Meyer, Emalee Meyer, and Isabella Meyer. Great grandchildren: Kaylee Weeks, Makinzie Stephens, Layne Stephens, Lynden Furr, Ben Furr, and Corbin Furr.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Ronald Meyer, Jean Frisk, and Janet Arnold.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Anthony Christian Church. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony. Friends and family may view and sign the book from 9:30 a.m. to the service at the church.
Memorials in memory of Charles may be made to the Augusta Senior Center and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
