Pamela Sue Hoover was born June 14, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Wilbur Carl "Chuck" Gettle and Dorothy Sue (Holt) Gettle. She grew up in Harper, Kansas graduating from Chaparral High School.
On May 10, 1980, Pam was united in marriage with the love of her life, Linton Hoover, at the United Methodist Church in Harper, Kansas. This union was blessed with two sons: Weston and Ronnie.
They made their home in Anthony, Kansas. Pam retired from the State of Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services where she worked many years as a Clerk Typist 2.
Pam's greatest love in life was being a wife, mother and especially a grandmother. She and Linton shared a love like no other. She and her sons were very close and she was always there to support them in every aspect of their lives. Only one person topped her sweet Linton and her boys, and that was her grandson, Christian. Her love for him was unimaginable.
Being a supportive and active mom, Pam helped with many organizations. Being a simple, to the point type of person and one who liked to stay out of the spotlight, she worked behind the scenes with Warrior Football, Boy Scouts, and many other activities her sons were involved in. She was also involved in many town functions and helped start the BBQ and Chili cook offs in Anthony. Pam was a delicious cook and enjoyed feeding everyone. She also enjoyed making ceramics with her ceramic club.
On May 30, 2020, Pam passed away at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 65. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two beloved brothers, Ronnie and Kenneth.
Pam will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of her loving husband, Linton, who was always there caring for her; son, Weston Hoover; son, Ronnie Hoover and wife, Janelle, and their precious boy, Christian; her sister and best friend, Carlene Hobbs and husband, Les; niece, Kaisha Reber and husband, Greg and their children: Jaibin, Hudsyn and Cohan; nephew, Bubba Morton; dear friends, Debbie Mangen and Vana Prouse; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
