Catherine "Cathy" Ann Hooley was born in Harper, Kansas on May 31, 1951, the daughter of Maurice Joseph and Ruth Lorena (Stalder) Hooley.  This is where the family made their home and where Cathy went to school, graduating from Harper High School with the class of 1970.

One of Cathy's greatest joys was helping others.  This led her to be a home health aide where she took pride in caring for people in their homes.  Among other things, she loved cats, her dogs, gardening, chickens, and donkeys.  When her health started to fail, she became a resident of Hillcrest Manor in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

On October 30, 2025, Cathy passed away at Hillcrest Manor at the age of 74.

Preceding Cathy in death were her parents, Maurice and Ruth; brother, Douglas "Doug" Michael Hooley; and her campanion of 34 years, Steve Shelton.  She will be missed by her children, Michael Hooley and his wife, Melanie of Tallahassee, Florida and Sheila Hooley of Utopia, Texas; grandson, Jordan McClanahan and his wife, Victoria of Jarrell, Texas; sister, Christine Hooley of Wichita, Kansas; other relatives and friends.

A private burial will take place at the Harper Cemetery where Cathy will be laid to rest next to her parents and brother.
