Cary Spencer Fox was born July 2, 1964 in Anthony, Kansas, son of Jimmie D. and Benida "Sis" (Lear) Fox. He grew up on a farm near the Anthony Lake. He graduated from Chaparral High School with the Class of 1982. He attended Emporia State University from 1982 to 1984 and the University of Kansas in 1985.

Cary married Florence "Lou" Love and they were blessed with three children: Preston, Brandon and Allison. Cary's life truly began the day he became a father. From day one he was a loving, caring, dedicated father who always made sure his children were happy and healthy.

On March 24, 2000, Cary was united in marriage with Lynn Parsons. She brought two children to the marriage. Michael and Kaitlyn Schrant. They were teased that Walmart had met Dillard's, as they both lived completely different lifestyles. Together they made it work and shared a love like no other two people. Combining their children also clicked, as they each had more siblings to annoy, pester and embarrass.

Cary had a love for farming and cattle. He worked side by side with his dad on the family farm continuously until 1996, when his dad passed away, at which point he sold the cattle but continued farming until 2005. In his senior year at Chaparral he purchased a hay wagon and started his first business. In 1985, he began his career with Morrison Company. He worked up to management and in 2001, when Jim McMurry bought Morrison's, renaming it to Prairie Belting, Cary continued working there as Vice President and General Manager. During the last few years, Cary traveled a lot for the company with his new travel partner Larry Gronau.

In 2001, Cary and Steve Stitt started F&S Enterprises. Cary designed a press to fabricate overhead crane vibration pads. In 2009, Cary and Lynn bought out Steve and in 2014 they purchased a business called The Wik, moving it to F&S in Anthony.

In 2012, Cary and Lynn built their dream house west of Harper. First though, Cary's dream shop was built. He was a constant thinker and very talented at planning, building and designing many things. He loved all of his many different projects. Tools were his weakness and he had just about everything so he could design and build whatever he wanted. The lift in the shop was a must so the boys could work on their vehicles.

Cary had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. No matter how busy he was if someone needed something he would be the first to show up and the last to leave. He believed in giving second chances, especially at his workplace. He loved all of his children and never missed a sporting event, graduation or any other special time. When he became a grandpa, his heart was full. He adored his grandchildren.

On July 25, 2017, Cary passed away at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City at the age of 53 years and 23 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim, and his father-in-law, Ron Parsons.

He will be forever missed by his wife, Lynn Fox; children: Preston Fox and companion, Sara Rohleder, Brandon Fox and companion, Cassie Goertz, Allison Fox and companion, Nik Wright, Michael Schrant and wife, Taylor, and Kaitlyn Schrant and companion, Channing Williams; grandchildren: Kaiden, Makinze and Austyn Fox; his mother, Benida "Sis" Fox; sister, Tammie White and her daughter, Dawson; mother-in-law, Judy Parsons; sister-in-law, Jill Baker and husband, Rick and their children, Kyle and Jenna; other relatives; and many dear friends and co-workers. His fur babies Corki and Mavrik and grand-dogs will also greatly miss him.

Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Anthony Christian Church.

Friends may register 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in HARPER.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harper Hospital or to the Anthony Fire Department and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
