Carolyn Jean Malone was born September 20, 1941 in Enid, Oklahoma, daughter of Robert Dudley and Edith (Waltz) Duvall. She was raised by her family in several places throughout Oklahoma and Colorado, before finally settling in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On June 29, 1957, Carolyn married Joseph Lloyd Malone in Huntsville, Arkansas.  This union was blessed with four children:  Lynn, Anthony, Michael, and Shawn. Carolyn and Joe began their family lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, eventually settling in San Jose, California.

Carolyn loved all animals unconditionally but had a particular fondness for cats of all sizes and types.  She would have loved to have owned a green-eyed black panther if she could have!

Carolyn was an avid Roller Derby enthusiast, actually becoming a skater herself for several years.

Carolyn was a very independent and strong woman.  At age 49, after raising her children, Carolyn pursued and obtained her lifelong goal of becoming an LVN.  She loved being a nurse and worked most of her career at Los Gatos Community Hospital in Los Gatos, California.

In 2009, after Carolyn and Joe had both retired, they resettled in Bluff City, Kansas.

On September 8, 2022, Carolyn passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, in Bluff City, Kansas, at the age of 80.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her husband of 65 years, Joseph Malone; her children:  Lynn Allen (Charlie), Anthony Malone, Michael Malone, and Shawn Malone; her siblings: Mary Milligan, Helen O'Hair, and Donald Duvall; she had 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; along with many other loved relatives and friends.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no services per Carolyn's wishes.
