Obituary

Carol Ann Fowler, 77, passed over September 11, 2025 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born March 31, 1948 in Harper County, Kansas to Alfred and Rosetta (Thornton) Calvert.

Carol spent most of her adolescent life in Attica, Kansas but later moved to California where she graduated High School and moved to Washington.

Carol worked through the years in the restaurant industry and retired in 2014.

Carol married Bruce Brown in the summer of 1966 in Attica, Kansas and welcomed a daughter, Lisa Renee in July of 1967.  They were married for two years.

Carol married Larry Fowler in November 1968 in Anthony, Kansas.  Larry and Carol had three children, Lori Elyn born May 1969, Chad Allen born March 1971, and Christina Lea born February 1974.  Larry and Carol were married for 45 years upon Larry's passing.

In 2014 Carol reconnected with long-time friend Darrell Parker of Cherokee, Oklahoma and made her home in Cherokee with Darrell.  They were together at the time of her passing.

Carol's hobbies included traveling, especially to the mountains or desert, crocheting, going to rock, mineral, and gem shows, and collecting different stones.  She also enjoyed watching bull riding and all things Native American.

Carol was proceeded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rosetta Calvert; brothers Bobby, Marvin, Francis, and Clyde Calvert; sisters Mary Jean Lytle and Betty Hammersmith; and stepdaughter Jeri Dee Fowler.

Carol is survived by her partner Darrell Parker of Cherokee, Oklahoma; daughter Lisa (Rich) Dickerson of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Lori (Dan) Mackey of Anthony, Kansas; son Chad (Jennifer) Fowler of Kincaid, Kansas; daughter Christina Fowler of Mustang, Oklahoma; stepson Kelly (Lisa) Parker of Alva, Oklahoma; stepson Brian (Darraigh) Parker of Alva, Oklahoma; stepson Cory (Amy) Claflin of Talala, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.

Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. October 2, 2025 at the Attica Cemetery, west of Attica, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Carol may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
