Burke LaMoine Bringer passed away January 14, 2017 in rural Argonia in the house he has lived in all of his life. He was born March 22, 1935 in Harper, Kansas to Elmer and June Marie Bringer and attended school in Argonia. Burke married his true love Ruth Walker on May 27, 1961 in Wichita, she preceded him in death. Burke drove a school bus and hauled milk while farming. He has raised cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens and crops. He was also known for milking a cow to sell milk to his neighbors. Burke loved his animals and always had a dog and cats on the farm. In his spare time, he liked to fish and spend time with his extended family. The past few years Burke enjoyed his afternoon pop breaks and Sunday morning breakfast with his friends. Burke was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald, infant sister Christine, brother in law Roy Lee Walker, sister in law Susie Huston. He is survived by sons, Burke Allen Bringer, Belle Plaine, Jody (Laura) Bringer, Argonia, daughter Jenni (Casey) Carr, Harper, sister Barbara (Denzel) Pearce, Wichita, brother in law Herb Huston, Choctaw, OK, sister-in-law Louise Robinson, OKC, OK; 8 grandchildren: Ross (Alicia) Bringer, Rodney Bringer, Duall Bringer, Clayton Bringer, Pierce Bringer, Emma Bringer, Ivy Bringer, and Chloe Bringer, 2 great- grandchildren: Wyatt and Caylee Bringer, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral service is at 10:30 am Friday, January 20th, at the Friends Church in Argonia with Pastor Wayne Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at the Argonia Cemetery with Deacon John Schlickau leading the service.
Memorials can be made to the Harper County 4-H Council or the Argonia Cemetery for trees and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
