Bruce Alan Bowling was born February 26, 1961 during a winter storm in Salem, Indiana.  His parents, Ernest and Loritta (Robinson) Bowling, couldn't make it to the hospital, so his dad delivered him while receiving help from the doctor through a phone call.  He grew up in Waldron, Kansas and graduated from Chaparral High School with the class of 1980.  He always took pride in being a Cub Scout for many years.

Following high school, Bruce began his career at State Line Grain in Manchester, Oklahoma.  He worked there until the mid 90's when he took a two-year break to work for Charlie Redfern.  He returned to State Line Grain on January 3, 1997 and continued working through the merger with Anthony Farmer's Coop up until his passing. Bruce loved his job and worked hard as the "elevator man" as he called himself.  He was adverse in all aspects of the Coop duties from the elevators to the tire truck and shop to the feed mill.

On April 7, 1984, he married his high school sweetheart, Tammy Schreiber.  This union was blessed with two children: Alan and Danielle.  They spent their married life in Manchester until they eventually divorced.

In 2006, Bruce met Tammy Ferrand.  The two were quickly drawn to each other and began a lasting relationship.  Bruce accepted Tammy's children, Chuck and Kelly, as his own.  They were married on December 28, 2015.  Together they enjoyed many happy times.

Finding a man like Bruce is like finding a piece of starlight: beautiful, bright and rare.  He had the heart of an angel and the spirit of a warrior.  He knew how to make people smile, even when he was exhausted.  He loved fishing and was never without a story to tell.

Bruce was a pillar in the Manchester community his entire adult life.  All the farmers, many of which he worked for throughout the years, knew they could depend on Bruce for his expertise at the Coop and if they needed a hand with their farming operations.  His kind and helping heart made him a great, dependable friend to many.  He was always willing to help anyone in need no matter what they needed.  He volunteered on the Manchester Fire Department for over 20 years and was always willing to help with any town event.

On January 23, 2025, Bruce passed away peacefully with his family around him.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his little brother, Brian.

Bruce will be deeply missed by his wife, Tammy; his children and grandchildren: Alan Bowling and wife, Ashley, and their children: Alyssa, Taylor, and Alanah, Danielle Bowling and children, Lane and Benelli, Chuck Christian and daughter, Chelsey, and Kelly Klick and children, Hennisey, Skyler, and Bristol.  He also leaves behind his sisters, Jo Tanner and husband, Mark, Ernita Hall and husband, Duke, and Teresa Nelson; along with many nieces and nephews; his Coop family; and a ton of friends.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Kent Olds officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, west of Anthony.  Following the graveside the family invites everyone to join them at the Revolution Fellowship Church on north Santa Fe in Anthony.

Friends may view and sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to service Monday at the funeral home.
