Brian Alan Holdt was born on December 19, 1967 in Harper, Kansas to Lanny Raymond and Carolyn Ann (Barnes) Holdt. The youngest of three boys, Brian grew up in Harper. This is where he went to school, graduating from Chaparral High School with the class of 1986. Brian went on to attend Wyoming Tech, where he obtained his Automotive Tech Certification.
Working for KDOT for several years out of the Medicine Lodge sub-area, Brian worked highway maintenance and was an equipment operator specialist. He was also a self-employed general contractor.

The three of them spent time fishing, hunting, shooting, and trapping. Brian loved riding his motorcycle and shared that with his girls as they enjoyed riding on the back. A few years ago, Brian and his girls were baptized at the Harper United Methodist Church. Appreciating nature, Brian was an avid outdoorsman.
