Phillip "Brad" Ricker traveled home on May 16, 2023, at the age of 53 near his hometown of Anthony, KS.  His gallant effort to fight against the challenges facing his body in recent years was a true testament to the dogged determination displayed throughout his life.  Despite great pain and adversity, Brad emerged to inspire those who loved him through and beyond his last breath.

As a child, and more so as an adult, Brad possessed an instinctive knowledge of engineering, mechanics, construction and later an uncanny ability of computers and technology; he was the absolute embodiment of the modern "Renaissance Man"

Brad also displayed a distinctive precociousness and ability to argue the contrary side of any debate.  As we came to appreciate, his greatest compliment to you was take part of his day to spar with you; as by doing so, was to acknowledge your importance in his life as he only enjoyed sparring if he felt you were close to his level.

He spent much of his life embarking on a meandering spiritual journey; discovering his own path to God through the years; coming full circle to find a steadfast faith which served to guide him in recent years.

He may most be remembered for his keen ability to apply his singular wit and ceaseless dry sense of humor to life's challenges.  He used this humor to put not only his family at ease, but also the teams of healthcare professionals who served him tirelessly until the end.

Brad will be celebrated and missed by his daughter Elizabeth Ricker of Stillwater, OK and granddaughter, Freya'Bella Smith; his parents, Phil and Georgia Ricker of Anthony and his 8 siblings:  Bryan Ricker (Charlene) of Wichita, Stephanie Ricker of Wichita, Rhonda Ricker of Wichita, Phillip Ricker Jr (Stacie) of Conway Springs, Brandie Schulte (Chris) of Wichita, Suzanne Ortiz (Daniel) of Ulysses, Justin Ricker (Gena) of Anthony and Jason Ricker (Kristin) along with many nieces and nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years, Kathy Peng Ricker and his brother, Brandon Ricker.

On Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. there will be a celebration of Brad's life in Anthony, Kansas at the Revolution Fellowship Church. An interment will follow at Wakita Cemetery, Wakita, OK at a later date. Memorials in memory of Brad may be made to Peeples Prothetics and can be sent in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E.
