Belva Ellen Turner Niemann was born in Anthony, Kansas on October 9, 1928.  Her parents were Evan Turner and Melissa Marie Mercer Turner Castor.

Belva grew up on a farm southwest of Anthony, Kansas.  She attended Beaver College Grade School and graduated from Anthony High School in 1947.

Belva married Marcian J. Niemann on January 22, 1948 in Anthony, Kansas.  Two children were born of this union, Darrell Allen and Terry Marc.

Belva's career was in the banking business.  She retired from First National Bank in 1991 as a Vice President and Loan Officer.

Belva had many hobbies.  She enjoyed working with genealogy along with her husband.  She also loved quilting, knitting, and crocheting.

Belva was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She worked on the trustees, nurture and membership and finance committees.  In 1994, she took the job as financial secretary for the church.

Belva passed away on January 5, 2022.  Preceding her in death is her husband, Marcian Joseph Niemann; her parents, Evan and Melissa; her sisters: Marguerite Butterfield, Violet Seipel, Evalena Bond, Wilma Keller, and Mary Niemann; and brothers: Loren Turner, Clifford Turner, and Everett Turner.

Belva is survived by her sons: Darrell (Wilma) Niemann of Valley Center, KS and Terry (Victoria) Niemann of Derby, KS; three grandchildren:  Christopher (Julie) Niemann of Wichita, Brett (Amy) Niemann of Lumberton, TX, and Brianna (Mike) Vaughn of Overland Park, KS; sister, Wanda Collins; brother, Melvin Evan Turner; nine great-grandchildren: Ethan, Connor, Ava, Cameron, Emma, Finn, Lanie, Maddy, and Tyler; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Viewing and visitation with the family present will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony.

A private burial will be held in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Belva may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Home Health and Hospice of Kansas in care of Prairie Rose Funeral Home, 602 E. Main St., Anthony, KS 67003.
